Everest Single Tier Cycle Rack FAQs

Yes. The Everest Double Decker Cycle Stand has its own individual locking loop for each space. Furthermore, the bike frame doesn’t rest on the stands removing the risk of scratching.
It is not recommended to get the Everest Double Decker Cycle Rack powder coated as it is prone to scratch and tear which becomes unsightly. The standard galvanised has a grey metallic finish. The galvanising is to the industry standard: BS EN 1461.
This depends on how many bike spaces you wish to install. Based on a 10 space cycle rack (so 5 spaces at the bottom and 5 at the top), here are some figures:
  • Height of the stand without a bike 2060mm.
  • Minimum height requirement 2600mm.
  • Depth 1810mm.
  • Width of the stand 2015mm.
  • Minimum width required 2190mm.
  • Centres 375mm.

Finally, we recommend allowing a space of 1500mm in front of our Double Decker Cycle Stands, this gives 1080mm of manoeuvring space for users and 420mm of space for the top shelves to fully extend.

The Everest Double Decker Cycle Rack will accommodate the following wheel sizes - 16 in. (40.6 cm), 20 in. (50.8 cm), 24 in. (61 cm), 26 in. (66 cm), 27 in. (68.6 cm), 27.5 in. (69.9 cm), 29 in. (73.7 cm), and 32 in. (81.3 cm).
The frame has been designed to be easy to put together and dismantle, and can easily be moved around your site if cycle parking arrangements ever change.

It is important to note that before installation local ground conditions must be assessed by a site engineer, to ensure the correct size of cycle storage is used for the space.
The Everest Double Decker Cycle Rack is best fixed to the floor. Typical foundations to fix the cycle racks should be 1400 x 500 x 500 mm in c16/20 concrete, which is suitable for a multitude of lightweight structures and other applications. .
Parking bays, modern apartment blocks, universities, leisure facilities, office complexes, parks, and other outdoor public areas where space is at a premium.
The Everest Double Deckers are built to stand the test of time, with robust welded connections between the base plate and the stand legs. This means they are very durable and won’t rust.

Yes, the Everest Double Decker Cycle Rack is also available with gas assisted struts.
This depends how high your shelter is. The very top of the frame (the section that holds the front wheel) is 2192mm from the floor, and we always recommend a minimum of 2500mm clearance to install the Everest Double Decker Cycle Rack, which should give enough space for users to store their bikes safely.
